GIS and Analytics
The GIS and Analytics Task Team uses geospatial statistical analysis to support the health, conflict, climate change, food security, and experiments team. The team creates a variety of maps and is currently developing and analyzing spatial statistical models. Several of the maps have had high impact in the development community including the Malawi Aid and Climate Map and the Kenya Aid and Poverty Map [photo to left], which we presented in a number of forums including Department of State, World Bank, USAID, and beyond. Among the maps and statistical projects currently underway, we are studying maternal mortality, violent armed conflict, transnational terrorism, and climate vulnerability. Much of this work is in collaboration with partners at AidData, USAID, and the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP).
